13 thousand absent in English second paper, 76 expelled

Absenteeism in English paper II in HSC examination under eight education boards in the country has increased. More than 13,000 students were absent from the examination held on Sunday (July 7). Besides, 76 people including one inspector have been expelled for resorting to abuse.

This information has been informed in the circular signed by Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar, President of Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Chairman of Dhaka Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

According to the information in the circular, the examination was held in 1 thousand 472 centers of the remaining 8 general education boards except the Sylhet board. There were 10 lakh 3 thousand 222 candidates in total. 9 lakh 90 thousand 393 people participated in the examination. 12 thousand 829 people were absent. Apart from this, 75 students and one inspector were expelled for using illegal means.

The highest number of 3 thousand 381 students were absent in English second paper examination in Dhaka Education Board. Besides, 2 thousand 35 people in Rajshahi, 1 thousand 141 people in Comilla, 1 thousand 711 people in Jessore, 1 thousand 82 people in Chittagong, 864 people in Barisal, 1 thousand 599 people in Dinajpur, 1 thousand 16 people in Mymensingh.

On this day, Mymensingh got the most expulsions due to abusive behavior. In this board, 16 students and a room inspector have been dismissed. Besides, 14 people were expelled in Rajshahi, 7 people in Dhaka Board, 13 people in Comilla, 4 people in Jessore, 4 people in Chittagong, 6 people in Barisal.

5 thousand absent in madrasa-technical, 24 expelled

3 thousand 414 people were absent in the Alim examination held under the Madrasa Board. 10 people were expelled. On the other hand, 1 thousand 596 people were absent from the HSC (BM/BMT), HSC (Vocational) and Diploma in Commerce examinations under the Technical Board. 14 people have been expelled for using illegal means.
