18 lakh rupees were stolen by hacking the development worker


A development worker was hacked and robbed of Tk 18 lakh in Madaripur. He was rescued and admitted to Madaripur 250-bed district hospital with serious injuries.

The incident took place at Dakshin Dudhkhali village of Kalikapur Union of Sadar Upazila at around 11 o’clock on Sunday (July 7).

According to police, local and injured sources, development workers Al-Amin (24) and Hasan Uddin (25) left for work from the district distributor office in Madaripur city this morning on a motorcycle. He was going to Housdi Bazaar of Madaripur Sadar Upazila after withdrawing Tk 18 lakh from Pubali Bank in Puranbazar area of ​​the city. When they reached the road of South Dudhkhali in Dudhkhali Union, two motorcycles came and blocked their way. When Al-Amin took out his mobile phone, he was cut and injured. Hasan Uddin who was with him ran away.

At that time, the miscreants robbed them of 18 lakh rupees. Later on Al-Amin’s screams, the locals rushed and admitted him to Madaripur 250-bed district hospital. After receiving the information, the police visited the spot.

Mostak Ahmed, distributor of Madaripur district of Bikash, said that it is very sad that so much money was stolen during the day. Such incidents have happened before but I did not get much help from the administration. I demand strict punishment to find those who are involved in this incident.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Madaripur Sadar Model Police Station AHM Salauddin said the police have started work to catch the robbers.
