341 educational institutions of Kurigram closed due to flood


The District Education Office has announced suspension of teaching in 341 educational institutions including primary and secondary schools, madrasas and colleges in Kurigram district.

District primary and secondary education officer confirmed this information on Sunday (July 7) afternoon. Navez Uddin and Md. Shamsul Haq.

It is known that 341 educational institutions in Char, Dwip Char and lower areas were inundated due to the ongoing flood and the communication system and teaching were unfit for this announcement.

Students of Panchgachi Ashrafia Government Primary School of Kurigram Sadar. Nahid Hasan said that the roads have sunk for the last 7 days. Houses have collapsed. A waist of water in the school grounds. How to study in this situation?

Local residents said. Habibur Rahman said, water all around, water in the school. In this situation, even if the school is kept open, the children cannot be sent.

Headmaster of Jhaukuti Government Primary School. Ruhul Amin said, “Flood water has gone up in our school. Besides, the teaching activities of the school have been stopped for an indefinite period since last Wednesday (July 3) due to the collapse of the communication system in the vicinity.

District primary education officer. Navez Uddin said that the number of primary schools flooded in the district is 253. Out of this, 220 teaching programs have been stopped.

Besides, District Secondary Education Officer. Shamsul Haque said that 79 secondary schools, 36 madrasas and 6 colleges have been closed for an indefinite period due to the current floods in the district.

District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer. Abdul Hai Sarkar said that 317 metric tons of rice, 21 lakh 85 thousand cash and 19 thousand 30 packets of dry food have been allocated to deal with the current flood.
