5 skeletons stolen in one night in Pabna

Five skeletons were stolen from Chinakhra graveyard in Sujanagar upazila of Pabna. The theft of the skeleton took place at Chinakhra Central Cemetery on Friday (June 7).

This is the second time a skeleton has been stolen from a cemetery in Pabna in a span of two and a half months.

Locals said that on Saturday (June 8) at noon, the cleaners noticed the theft of skeletons while cleaning the cemetery area. They immediately reported the matter to the cemetery committee.

A person named Ershad said, thieves stole my mother’s skeleton. He demanded justice by identifying the culprits.

Jilan Hossain, a local resident, said that the theft of skeletons from the cemetery is alarming and frightening.

Confirming the matter, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sujanagar police station Jalal Uddin said that miscreants stole the skeleton after digging a grave sometime during the night. The matter is being seriously investigated. Details can be told subject to investigation.

Earlier on March 19, 15 skeletons were stolen from Khas Aminpur cemetery in Bera upazila.
