Actress Smriti Biswasrekha passed away


India’s veteran actress Smritirekha Biswas passed away. He breathed his last in Nasi on July 3. He was 100 years old at the time of his death. His last rites were reportedly completed in Maharashtra on Thursday (July 4) morning.

Smriti Rekha Biswas is known as Smriti Biswas Narang in the world of Bengali and Hindi cinema. His connection with the silver screen was formed from childhood. He has worked in the films of directors like Guru Dutt, V Shantaram, Mrinal Sen, Bimal Roy, BR Chopra and Raj Kapoor. Besides, he was seen on screen with big heroes from Uttamkumar, Biswajit, Kishorekumar to Dev Anand.

He was born on February 17, 1924 in Khulna district of undivided Bengal. He made his debut as a child artist in the thirties. He worked on the silver screen till the sixties. She started her career as an adult actress in the movie ‘Sandhya’ in 1944. In the same year, he acted in Bimal Roy’s ‘Uday Pathe’.

In 1950 Smriti also acted in Uttam Kumar starrer ‘Dignity’. In 1959, he was seen in the movie ‘Neel Akash Akhtar’. This is his last movie in Bengali.

Smritirekha Biswas’ first Hindi movie ‘Modern Girl’ was released in 1961. After that he was seen acting in movies like ‘Nek Dil’, ‘Aparajita’. It was during this time that she got married to director-producer SD Narang. Their two sons Rajeev and Satyajit are present.

Although Smritirekha Biswas spent her last life in extreme poverty. About 28 years ago, he left his residence in Mumbai and moved to Nashik. He lived there with his sister. In a small one-room rented house, this actress entered the path of eternity.
