Adabar girl rape: Accused arrested for life sentence


14-year-old girl rape case sentenced to life in Adabar police station area of ​​the capital. A person named Shaheen (30) was arrested by RAB-2. He was arrested in the early morning of Friday (July 5) in Mohammadpur police station area of ​​the capital.

Arrested Shahin Barisal Bhola District Md. Chiddik’s son. He was on the run for 4 years after the incident.

RAB-2 Senior Assistant Director (Media) Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Shihab Karim confirmed this information.

He said that the victim girl lived with her family in a rented house in Adabar area of ​​the capital. On October 29, 2019, around 11:30 pm, when the victim went to the bathroom to answer the call of nature, Shahin, who was having a camel, pressed her face and forcibly raped the girl. In this incident, the victim herself filed a case (No. 29) under the Women and Child Torture Act at Adabar Police Station.

The accused arrested in that case was released on bail from the court after spending 10 months in jail. Later he absconded without appearing in court regularly. After that, the investigating officer of the case submitted the charge sheet against the accused in the court after the investigation.

While Shaheen was absconding, the court after the trial issued an arrest warrant against him with life imprisonment with rigorous imprisonment and a fine of one lakh taka for 3 months in default of payment.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Shihab Karim also said that in view of the warrant issued by the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Adabar Police Station regarding the arrest of the accused involved in this case, RAB increased intelligence surveillance in this regard. In continuation of this, on the basis of secret information and with the help of information technology, Shaheen was arrested in Mohammadpur police station area on Friday morning.

The official also said that he was handed over to Adabar police station.
