After 14 years, the party returned to power, who is Starmer?

The Labor Party led by Sir Keir Starmer won the UK general election. With this huge victory, the Labor Party is back in power after 14 years. Keir Starmer will become Prime Minister as a result of the election victory.

He replaced hard-left politician Jeremy Corbyn as the leader of the Labor Party four years ago.

He worked to bring his party back to the very center of the political arena and to do well in the polls.

The Labor Party has been out of power for the last 14 years, and now the long wait is over.

After a distinguished career as a lawyer, Sir Keir Starmer entered politics. He became a member of parliament in his fifties.

He was born in London in 1962. One of four children in the family. Kier Sturmer grew up in Surrey in southeast England.

Starmer is often heard talking about his association with the working class. His father worked as a factory equipment maker and his mother was a nurse.

Kier Starmer joined the local youth wing of the Labor Party at the age of 16. He also edited a radical leftist magazine for a while.

Sir Kier is the first member of his family to go to university to study. He studied law at Leeds and Oxford. He also worked on human rights.

In 2008, Sir Keir Starmer also served as Director of Public Prosecutions and Head of the Crown Prosecution Service. Which means he was the most senior public prosecutor in England and Wales. He worked till 2013. He was knighted in 2014.

He went to Parliament for the first time in 2015. Also served as Member of Parliament for Hoburn and St. Pancras in London.

After the 2019 general election, Sir Keir Starmer got the opportunity to become the leader of the Labor Party. It was the worst time for the Labor Party.

The party suffered its worst defeat since 1935, forcing Jeremy Corbyn to resign.
