Police have arrested two more members of the dacoit gang in Manikganj in connection with the kidnapping of a businessman in the identity of RAB and robbery of gold. At that time, 48 loads of gold looted by digging the ground of cow house were seized.

The arrested are Siddique Sheikh (50) son of Ahmed Sheikh of Raghunathpur area of ​​Kotyali police station of Faridpur and Shah Alam Mia (48) son of deceased Abul Kalam Mia of Sreepur area of ​​Sadar police station of Rajbari district.

Manikganj Superintendent of Police Golam Azad Khan gave this information at a press conference on Thursday (June 13).

He said that during the investigation of the case of gold robbery and abduction of a businessman, Siddique Sheikh, a member of the dacoit group, was first arrested on Wednesday (June 12) at around 11 o’clock from Kuchiamora Tola Plaza of Munshiganj Sirajdikhan Police Station.

Based on his information, Shah Alam Miah, another member of the dacoit gang, was arrested from Sreepur area of ​​Rajbari in the afternoon. At that time, the soil of the cowshed of his house was dug up and 48 loads of gold were seized.

The Superintendent of Police also said that the arrested will be produced in court after the legal process.

Earlier on June 1 at around 7 am, a gold trader from Dhaka and 3 other companions were forcibly taken in a RAB stickered microbus along with 95 bags of gold in Amtala village of Jamsha Union in Singair Upazila of the district. Later, the locals stopped the car of the dacoit group from the Golaidanga area of ​​the upazila and arrested five people including one RAB member and handed them over to the police.
