Bangladesh’s first law university will be at Shibchar in Madaripur, said Law Minister Anisul Haque. He told this to reporters while inspecting the proposed site for the university at Shivchar on Saturday (July 6) morning.

The law minister said that the judicial department has decided to make two institutions in Shivchar. Proposal for Chief Judicial Academy passed. Arrangements have also been made for land acquisition and payment of compensation to affected land owners for this institution. Besides, a law university will be established on the instructions of the Prime Minister. Which will be called ‘Bangladesh Law University’. I have planned to make the university in Shivachari of Madaripur district.

He also said that this will be the first law university in the country. Basically we came to inspect the land for the university. We visited 3 different places in Shivchar, Madaripur. Notable places are – Near Padma Bridge in Qutubpur near Padma Railway Station, Bara Dowali in Panchchar Union and Char Shyamail area in Shivchar Municipality. We shall select the place from among these which seems suitable for the establishment of a law university. In a few days, I will inform you in which place Bangladesh Law University will be located. But hopefully, the first law university of Bangladesh will be in Shivchar.
