Blast at Belabo factory in Narsingdi, 6 burnt


An explosion occurred in a Chinese factory producing bitumen oil at Belabo in Narsingdi. 6 people were burnt. The injured have been admitted to Dhaka Medical College (DHMC) Hospital Burn Unit.

The incident took place at the China International Trading Co: Ltd factory in Dulalkandi area of ​​Belabo upazila of Narsingdi around 4 pm on Friday. After the incident, the people of the neighborhood came forward but they were not allowed to enter. As the factory is inside a remote village, the matter was not made public. The condition of one of the injured was reported to be critical around 11 pm.

China International Trading Co. Ltd. official Sajjat ​​Hossain Sourav said that bitumen is produced in the China International Trading Co. Ltd. factory. A national powder was extracted from the boiler of the factory yesterday. The powders are believed to be flammable. A crane was being deployed on Friday afternoon to move the heavy machinery. The crane was being welded with a welding machine to install it. A spark in the boiler ignites during welding with a welding machine.

He said that at that time, six workers who were working in front of the broiler of the factory were burnt in the fire. They were rescued and admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital burn unit. The doctor said that the condition of one of the six people named Masood is serious. His hands, back and abdomen were burnt. The rest are much better.

Azizur Rahman, OC of Belabo police station, said that an explosion occurred in a factory called China International Trading Co. Ltd. in Dulalkandi area of ​​Belabo upazila of Narsingdi.
