Body in burnt down building in Bogra, 2 arrested for attempted disappearance


A dead body of a person has been recovered after 24 hours of a terrible fire in a commercial building in Sherpur, Bogra. The deceased’s name is Rahmat Ali (32). He is the son of Asan Sardar alias Asan Ali of Bongabasar village of Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj. It is said that he was the assistant (helper) of the oil lorry driver.

Meanwhile, the incident of trying to disappear the body of the person who died in fire has given rise to various questions and mysteries. Therefore, the police arrested two people and interrogated them to find out the incident.

They were arrested along with the seizure of the truck used for transporting dead bodies from Shahjadpur upazila headquarters of Sirajganj on Monday (June 3) afternoon.

The arrested are truck driver Anwar Hossain (37) and his assistant Shipon Ahmed (25).

Earlier on Saturday (June 1) at around 11:00 p.m., Dulal on Hospital Road in the municipality, adjacent to the Dhaka-Bogra highway. The fire in the complex The incident happened. In the fire, all the goods of a business called Lemon Enterprises known as an unauthorized mini fuel oil depot on the ground floor of the building were burnt to ashes. It causes damages like crores of rupees.

At that time, Shahidul Islam and Khadir Ali, employees of that business, were burnt. They are currently undergoing treatment at the burn unit of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SHJMEC) Hospital in Bogra.

After investigation, it is known that two persons were cleaning the business establishment of the building which was destroyed by fire after noon on Sunday, the day after the incident. At this time they saw human bones and skin. Then they did not clear the incident and told the businessmen and building owners. Later, the arrested persons recovered the body and took the body to Shahjadpur in a truck with a large amount of money. But after taking it there, the locals arrested the truck driver and his assistant as the incident was suspicious. At one stage, the incident was reported to Shahjadpur police station and later to Sherpur police station as it was suspicious.

Sherpur Police Inspector (Investigation) Kamal Hossain recovered the body from Shahjadpur and sent it to Bogura morgue. Along with that, the truck used for transporting the body was seized and the driver-helper was arrested and brought to the police station.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sherpur Police Station Rezaul Karim Reza admitted the truth of the incident and said that the police have started to investigate why the body recovered from the burning building was tried to disappear. Besides, two people are being detained and interrogated. Soon the mystery will unravel. He said that legal action will be taken in this incident.
