After losing to Venezuela, Canada is going to face a tough challenge in the semis. Because Argentina is the current champion of the Copa America and the world champion. Again, Argentina beat Canada 2-0 in the opening match of the season.

Today Saturday at the AT&T Stadium, Venezuela and Canada showed a great game in counter attacking. Both teams went to counter attack when they got the chance. But Canada had the last laugh.

Canada advanced in 13 minutes after scoring only 1 goal in three group stage matches. Jacob Scheffelberg scored a great goal from Jonathan David’s cross.

After that, Canada created many opportunities in the first half. They fail again and again. In the 24th minute, Jacob missed a chance to score his second goal. His weak shot was blocked by Venezuelan goalkeeper Rafael Romo. After that, David could not score even after getting the goalkeeper alone. He hit the ball outside.

Venezuela equalized by scoring a counter attack in the second half. The goalkeeper moved almost midfield during Canada’s attack. But when Venezuela got the ball and attacked, he didn’t have time to get under the goal.

Salomon Rondon took a shot over the head of Canada goalkeeper Maxime Cripau from more than 35 yards. Cripau had nothing to do but watch. As a result, the two teams tied at 1-1. Since there is no overtime rule, the game is played directly in the tiebreaker.
