Cow ran from the market to the railway bridge, the train narrowly escaped

A cow from the sacrificial animal market fell on the Meghna railway bridge at Bhairab in Kishoreganj. The tourist express train was narrowly saved from a major accident. However, train movement was stopped for half an hour.

This incident happened on Wednesday (June 12) around 9:30 am. Later, when the cow was removed from the railway line, the train was running normally.

Eyewitnesses said that there is a sacrificial animal market next to the Dhaka-Chittagong down line. A cow ran from there and stood on the Shaheed Habil Abdul Halim Bridge over the Meghna River. Meanwhile, the cow fell in front of the tourist express train from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar. The driver saw the cow and braked hard to stop the train. This saved the cow and the train from a major accident. Later, the local people ran and moved the cow to the railing next to the bridge, after about half an hour the train crossed the bridge.

In this regard, Bhairab Station Assistant Station Master Sadhan Chandra Barman said that the tourist train left Bhairab Station at 8:33 am. But the train was stopped because the cow jumped on the railway bridge. After removing the cow, the train crossed the bridge after half an hour.
