Digital services to be launched at all land ports: Minister of State for Shipping

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said that digital services will be launched in all land ports of the country.

He said this at the e-port management system inauguration ceremony at Satkhira’s Bhomra land port on Thursday (July 4) at noon.

He said that the land ports of our country will one day become smart ports like the ports of the developed world.

The state minister said that automation has already been started at Benapole and Burimari land ports to make the country’s land port services paperless. Digital capability is being enhanced along with the infrastructure development of Bhomra land port.

Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury also said that projects are being funded by government and development aid agencies to bring the land ports under the scope of modernization and automation. The digitization program at the Bhomra land port at a cost of around Tk 9 crore funded by the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation (GATF) will play a role in smoothing the supply of goods.

AFM Ruhul Haque, Member of Parliament Ashrafuzzaman Ashu, Member of Parliament Laila Parveen Senjuti, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Superintendent of Police Md. Matiur Rahman Siddiqui and others.
