Fakhrul said why the movement of BNP did not succeed

Before the 12th National Assembly elections, the BNP protested to demand the fall of the government and a one-point election under a neutral government. Besides, the party has been protesting for several years demanding the release of party chairperson Khaleda Zia. However, no final success came to any movement.

In this regard, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, we have not withdrawn from any movement. There is no reason to belittle the movements that BNP has made in the last 15/16 years. The repressive, repressive policies of this terrible government may be the reason why success has not come so far.

He said, hundreds of people gave their lives in our democracy restoration movement, 22/23 people were shot dead in this movement. False cases were filed against 6 million people, 27 thousand people were arrested in two days. Movement in the path of justice never fails, we will surely succeed in this too.

BNP Secretary General said, we have never moved away from the movement. Begum Khaleda Zia is a symbol of democracy, freeing her means primarily freeing democracy. We have not withdrawn from the movement to restore democracy, we have not withdrawn from the movement for the release of Khaleda Zia… this is the reality. The two movements cannot be seen separately.
