Fast recruitment to railway vacancies: Minister


The railway minister said that the recruitment process for vacant posts in the railways will be completed very quickly. Zillul Hakim. He gave this information in a written statement in response to the notice given by Mahmud Hasan Sumon, an independent member of parliament, under Rule 71 in the National Parliament on Sunday (June 9).

Railway Minister Zillul Hakim said that the number of vacant posts has increased due to the resignation of the station master. There are 1,113 vacant posts against 1,929 sanctioned posts for Station Master and 783 vacant posts out of 1,921 posts for Pointman. Recruitment circular for 417 Station Master vacancies has been published. The recruitment process will be completed very soon.

The minister said that project approval is underway to procure 260 more broad gauge passenger carriages, 46 broad gauge locomotives, 50 meter gauge locomotives, 290 broad gauge BFCT wagons in the near future to ensure comfortable train travel for common passengers and increase railway revenue through freight transportation.

Subject to receipt of engines and passenger coaches, one pair of trains from Mymensingh to Dhaka and two pairs of trains from Mymensingh to Bhairab will be started.
