Goalless England-Switzerland match in the first half

The tournament is not going well for England. Foden-Kane are not playing up to the expectations of the fans. Even if they get through to the last sixteen matches, they have to fight hard against the Swiss in the quarter finals. Neither team scored at the end of the first half.

English have to wait till 22 minutes to get the first chance in the match. Trippier’s cross from the corner was given a chance in the D box but Harry Kane headed the ball wide.

For the entire 45 minutes, neither team could mount an attack to speak of. Most of the attacks from both teams were countered by the defenders from outside the d-box.

England kept 54 percent of the ball in their possession, but could not make any dangerous attacks in the Swiss camp. As a result, the first half ended in a goalless situation.
