Heart attack while playing, Egyptian footballer in the country of no return

Egypt’s national team footballer Ahmed Rifat died of a heart attack during the match. His club Modern Sport confirmed the death on Saturday. He was 31 years old at the time of his death.

Modern Future FC confirms the death of Ahmed Rifat, the club said in a statement. The player of the Egyptian national team died due to a serious deterioration of health. On March 11, 2024, he died in hospital today after a long struggle to survive after a health crisis.

Rifat suffered a heart attack during a match in the Egyptian Premier League on March 11. He fainted on the field in the 88th minute. Rifat was later taken to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital.

Doctors at the hospital tried to revive Rifat with an artificial electrical device ‘pacemaker’ to keep his heart beating regularly. Later, when his physical condition improved, he was sent home from the hospital. Rifat was being treated there.

Mohamed Salah, the captain of the Egyptian national team and Liverpool’s star footballer, expressed grief over Rifat’s death.
