Housewife commits ‘suicide’ in capital city out of contempt for husband


The police recovered the hanging body of a housewife named Maqsuda Akhtar Mukta (35) from a house in Khilgaon area of ​​the capital.

Relatives found the woman hanging around 3 pm on Saturday (July 6). Later, he was rescued unconscious and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMH) Hospital. The doctor on duty declared him dead around 5 pm.

Kazi Rafikuzzaman, brother-in-law of the deceased, said that due to a family dispute, Maqsuda Aktar Mukta insulted her husband and went to her room and closed the door. After many calls, he did not open the door. Then they informed the police. Later, with the help of the police, they went inside and found her hanging from the hook of the ceiling fan with her veil wrapped around her neck. Later quickly rescued him and took Dhame
The doctor declared him dead.

Ebaduzzaman Shimul, the deceased’s husband, owns a spectacles shop. Besides, Kazi Rafikuzzaman said that he used to share rides.

Deputy Inspector (SI) of Khilgaon Police Station. Ashraful Haque confirmed the matter and said, after receiving the information, we rescued the woman hanging from a flat on the sixth floor of the nine-storied building of Khilgaon C-Block. Later he was rescued and brought to DM, the doctor declared him dead.

He also said that we have come to know from his relatives that he committed suicide by hanging himself due to a family dispute. However, the exact cause of death will be known after the autopsy report. His body has been kept at the mortuary of the emergency department of DMK.

The deceased Maqsuda Akhtar is a resident of Muktar village in Madaripur district. Father’s name is Harun Bepari. He has one son and one daughter. They lived as a family in Khilgaon.
