If Anar’s death is officially confirmed, the seat will be declared vacant


Jhenaidah-4 seat will be declared vacant after the death of MP Anwarul Azim Anar is officially confirmed.

This decision was taken at the meeting of the Working Advisory Committee of the 12th National Parliament before the budget session of the National Parliament began on Wednesday (June 5).

It was presided over by the chairman of the committee Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury.

Sources of the meeting informed that the meeting discussed the matter of parliamentarian Anwarul Azim Anar, who was murdered in Kolkata. Committee member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Salim raised the issue in the meeting.

It was later decided that the seat would be declared vacant after his death was officially confirmed.

Committee member and Parliament Leader and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina participated in the meeting. Among others, the members of the committee were the Leader of the Opposition GM Quader, Amir Hossain Amu, Abul Hasanat Abdullah, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Salim, Obaidul Quader, Rashed Khan Menon, Anisul Haque, Deputy Leader of the Opposition Anisul Islam Mahmud, Abdul Latif Siddiqui, Deputy Speaker. Shamsul Haque Tuku, Dr. Dipu Moni, Chief Whip Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury and AKM Rezaul Karim Tansen.

Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali participated in the meeting as per the intention of the President.
