India has confidence in Rohit in the next two ICC tournaments

Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from international T20 cricket after winning the T20 World Cup. However, he will play ODIs and Tests. Not only that, he will lead India in the next two ICC tournaments as well.

BCCI secretary Jai Shah wants Rohit Sharma to lead the national team till the next Test World Cup final.

Joy hopeful of more success after winning T20 World Cup under Rohit. After the loss to Australia in the ODI World Cup final, he said that this team will win the 20-over World Cup.

“Our next target is the Test World Cup final and the Champions Trophy,” said Joy Shah, who was elated as his prediction came true. I am sure, under the leadership of Rohit, we will be champions in both these competitions.’

From this statement of the BCCI secretary, it is assumed that there is no possibility of change in the leadership of the Indian team for the time being.

The BCCI secretary also said, ‘Congratulations to all the team for the historic win. I would like to dedicate this win to coach Rahul Dravid, captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja. We reached the finals of three ICC competitions within a year. I lost the Test World Cup final in June. Then we had to lose in the one-day world cup final as well. Even after winning 10 consecutive matches, we did not reach the final. I also thought that we will win the T20 World Cup. I was saying this last June.’

However, BCCI officials will have to find a new captain for 20-over cricket. Hardik Pandya can get the responsibility. He was the vice-captain of the team in the last World Cup.
