India is not treating us friendly: Manna

Mahmudur Rahman Manna, the top leader of Demokratia Manch and president of Nagrik Oikya, called for the early cancellation of the memorandum of understanding with India.

On Friday (July 5) in front of the National Press Club in the capital, he called for a protest rally against the MoU, which was against the interests of Bangladesh and created a security ‘threat’, organized by the Democracy Forum, saying otherwise the consequences will be very bad.

Mahmudur Rahman Manna said, India takes away the voting rights of the people of Bangladesh in the name of so-called security, takes away the basic rights, does not allow democracy to develop in Bangladesh. A government has been sitting in power for 15 years trying to keep him in power. We want to be friends with India but India is not treating us friendly. They have stopped the voting rights of the people of Bangladesh.

He said that the government has now signed a satellite agreement with India. Indian satellites can now monitor investigations anywhere in Bangladesh. The security of my country is in the hands of India. In this visit to India, Sheikh Hasina has given all the conditions of our country.

He also said that the government has not given transit, the government has given a direct corridor. Indian train will come to Bangladesh, this train can also be a freight train. We don’t know what will be inside the train. If any country thinks that there are weapons in this freight car and if they say we will block this train, it means that you (Awami government) have made Bangladesh a place where India and China are having problems on one side. Along with the transit, the way the satellites are created, all the secret information between my country will go to India.

Chief coordinator of Mass Solidarity Movement Jonaid Saki, general secretary of Revolutionary Works Party Saiful Haque and many other leaders were present in the protest rally under the chairmanship of Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu, convener of Bhasani Anusari Parishad.
