Israel carried out ‘massacre’ to rescue four Palestinians

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have rescued four Israeli hostages alive in a raid in central Gaza. The IDF claimed in a statement on Saturday (June 8) that they were rescued from two separate locations in the city of Nuseirat.

Meanwhile, Al Jazeera, a Qatar-based media outlet, said Israel carried out a massive attack on the Nuseirat refugee camp on Saturday while rescuing the four hostages. At least 210 Palestinians died. Besides, more than 400 people were injured. The Health Ministry of Hamas-controlled Gaza is claiming the matter as a ‘genocide’.

The IDF said in a statement that four hostages, Noah Argamani (25), Alamg Meir Jan (21), Andrei Kozlov (27) and Salomi Zhiv (40), were rescued alive in a joint operation by Israeli police and security forces. Israel’s Channel-12 released a video of Noah Argamani, an Israeli citizen of Chinese origin, being reunited with his father after his release.

Earlier, when Argamani was captured by Hamas resistance fighters, a video of him went viral on social media. It showed the young woman screaming, “Please, don’t kill me.”

Among the other rescued hostages is Russian national Andrei Kozlov. He came to Israel in 2022. He was working as a security guard for the Shlomi Ziv festival. Ofer hostage Meir Jan was also present at the festival and was captured by Hamas as she tried to escape. He was also involved with festival security.

According to the British media BBC, the IDF said that the physical condition of all four people who were freed is quite good. However, they were transferred to Tel-Hashoma Medical Center for further treatment.

The Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza said dozens of people, including children, were killed in the Israeli operation. Several others were injured. In such a situation, the medical staff of Al-Awda and Al-Aqsa Hospitals are struggling to treat the injured. Moreover, the Gaza Ministry of Health has published pictures of injured children.

On October 7 last year, the Palestinian independence organization Hamas attacked a music festival in southern Israel and took 221 people hostage. The IDF said 40 of them died. Hamas still holds 116 hostages.
