‘It’s not IPL that will get highway pitches’

The teams have scored more than 200 runs in this tournament of IPL. One team even won the match with 250 run top. But IPL-like pitches will not be available in the World Cup, that was conceivable. Former Indian coach Ravi Shastri warned Rohit Sharma about that.

India bowled out Ireland for just 96 runs today on the bowling of Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya. Won by a big margin of 8 wickets.

“You have to adapt to the situation here,” Shastri warned Rohit Sharma ahead of the India-Ireland match on Star Sports’ T20 World Cup talk show. The pitches here are also different. It is not the IPL that will get the highway pitch. Here you have to see where the bounce is coming, how the pace is taking place on the pitch. Coming to the crease, 3-4 balls, you have to deal extra and understand the situation, then you have to move forward.’

India has not tasted victory in this tournament since the first T20 World Cup in 2007. So India is determined to break the drought of the elusive trophy.
