Bangladesh national football team is now in Qatar to play the last match of the World Cup qualifying group. Bangladesh will play the match against Lebanon on June 11 in Doha. Spanish national team coach Javier Cabrera went to Qatar with 23 footballers on Friday.

Expatriate Bangladeshis welcomed the Bangladeshi football team with flowers at Doha Airport. They were present at the airport with flowers, national flags and banners. Bangladesh team media manager Khalid Mahmun Noomi said from Doha that the footballers will practice the first session at 9 pm on Friday.

Lebanon’s home match against Bangladesh on June 11 will be played in Doha, Qatar. Lebanon chose Doha as their home venue because of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.

Earlier, Bangladesh played the fifth match against Australia at home on Thursday. Bangladesh lost that match 2-0. After losing 7-0 in the away match, losing only 2 goals in the home match has boosted the confidence of Tapu-Rakibs.

Bangladesh drew the home match against Lebanon 1-1. The return match is going to be played at a neutral venue. Bangladesh wants to return with points from this match. Then Cabrera’s team will achieve something in the last match of the group stage.

In 2011, Bangladesh beat Lebanon 2-0 in the World Cup qualifiers in Dhaka. Bangladesh lost the away match in Beirut by 4-0. Cabrera’s side lost 2-0 to Lebanon in the group stage of the SAFF Championship in Bangalore in June last year.
