Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dean Md. Nurul Haque

He said, as per Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s expectation, domestic and foreign specialist doctors will be attached to super specialized hospitals under BSMMU. Besides, new additions to the existing law will be necessary for the university to implement essential activities including recruitment of skilled manpower.

He said these things at the 32nd National Conference of Bangladesh Society of Pathologists held at Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Convention Hall of the University on Saturday (July 6). The conference was held with paraclinical science teachers and doctors to spread accurate diagnosis and service activities at the marginal level.

Dr. Dean Md. Nurul Haque said that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University should be legally given the necessary powers to make the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University just like a super specialized hospital. The current administration of the university has taken necessary initiatives to implement this program. In the meantime, discussions have been held with the Chief Justice, Attorney General and others concerned.

He said that none of the equipment of the super specialized hospital has been damaged so far. So I request journalists not to spread misleading news about it.

In the speech of the special guest, State Minister of Health Dr. Rokeya Sultana said that because anesthesiologists and pathologists work from behind the curtain, people cannot know about them. But their role is essential in providing proper diagnosis and support to patients through physicians and surgeons.

He said that today’s conference is necessary to integrate various experimental knowledge in the rapidly changing medical field. The knowledge gained will accelerate accurate diagnosis, innovative treatments and patient welfare, and will create a broad range of solutions to complex medical challenges.
