Life sentence for husband in Rajbari murder case

Rajbari killed his wife. The court sentenced a person named Abdul Mandal to life imprisonment and a fine of Tk 50,000 for one more year.

Rajbari Senior Sessions Judge Mosammat Zakia Parveen gave the verdict on Tuesday (June 25) afternoon. Accused Md. Abdul Mandal was present in the court.

Convicted accused Abdul Mondal of Komarpur village of Majhbari union of Kalukhali upazila of Rajbari. Ruhul Amin Arupe is the son of Nurul Mandal.

According to the case and court sources, after the marriage, husband Abdul Mondal pressured his wife to go abroad with the dowry money. There were conflicts in their family from time to time. On the night of June 6, 2023, Abdul Mandal killed his wife Rashida Begum by beating her with a brick. Abdul, the killer, left the body in the bedroom and locked it from outside. Achma Begum, the elder sister of the housewife Rashida Begum, who was killed in this incident, filed a murder case on June 7 as the plaintiff.

The Public Prosecutor (PP) of the court, Advocate Wazir Ali Sheikh, told Jago News that the murder was a heinous and reprehensible act. The court gave a verdict in this case quickly after the hearing. We are satisfied with the verdict. I hope that this judgment will reduce the crime tendency of criminals in the society to some extent.
