Meeting of the Japanese delegation with DU Vice-Chancellor

Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A three-member delegation led by Professor Toyama Takashi of Nagasaki University, Japan met with ASM Maqsood Kamal.

The meeting was held at the Vice-Chancellor’s office on Tuesday (June 11). At this time DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Muhammed Samad, Director of Student Exchange Support Division of Nagasaki University, member of the Japanese delegation. Takeshi Suetsugu and JICA International Cooperation Coordinator Miz. Hari Mizuki was present.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, especially the possibility of undertaking joint cooperative education and research programs between Dhaka University and Japan’s Nagasaki University in engineering, fisheries, public health, peace and conflict studies, among others. Besides, they also fruitfully discussed the short-term exchange of teachers, students and researchers between the two universities.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Maqsood Kamal briefed the Japanese delegation about the history and educational programs of Dhaka University.

DU Vice-Chancellor said that Dhaka University has many MoUs related to education and research with leading universities in Japan. Emphasis should be placed on undertaking various joint collaborative education and research programs with the Nagasaki University of Japan, including student-teacher and researcher exchange.

DU Vice-Chancellor expressed sincere thanks to Japanese Professor Toyama Takashi for coming to Dhaka University and expressing deep interest in education, research and student-teacher and researcher exchange.
