New ambassador of Bangladesh in Netherlands and Italy


The government has decided to appoint the High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Kenya, Tarek Muhammad, as the next ambassador of Bangladesh to the Netherlands. He will replace the current Ambassador Riaz Hamidullah.

This information has been informed in the press release sent by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday (June 9).

Tariq Muhammad is an 18th batch officer of BCS (Foreign) cadre. Since February 2022, he has been serving as High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Kenya. He is also serving as non-resident ambassador to Tanzania, Uganda, Somalia and Rwanda.

Tareq Muhammad has held various posts in the Bangladesh Mission in Madrid, New Delhi, Kathmandu and Yangon. He was the Deputy Head of Bangladesh Mission in Yangon. He served as Consul General of Bangladesh in Los Angeles.

He has experience working as Director at the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Secretariat in Kathmandu. He obtained his MBA degree from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka.

Meanwhile, the Director General of the South Asia Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. T. M. The government has decided to make Rakibul Haque the ambassador of Bangladesh in Italy. He will replace the current Ambassador Monirul Islam.

A professional diplomat of the 20th batch of Foreign Affairs Cadre, Rakibul Haque has been serving as the Director General of the South Asia Division of the Ministry of External Affairs since 2021.

Before this, he was the Deputy High Commissioner at the Bangladesh Mission in New Delhi. Rakibul Haque has served in various capacities in Bangladesh missions in Islamabad, Hague and New York.

Rakibul Haque has served in important positions in the Ministry of External Affairs. He completed his Masters in Economics from Dhaka University.
