Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sheikh Fazle Noor Tapas said that the waste of sacrificial animals can be removed more nicely this time. He said, this time DSCC has achieved much more capacity than ever before in terms of required vehicles and equipment.

Tapas said, earlier there were some weaknesses in the vehicles and machinery used to remove the waste of animals and sacrificial huts. But this time fully capable. Because 25 dump trucks and 10 payloaders of 10 ton capacity have been added with own funding for waste removal. 15 more dump trucks are being added. Mentioning that separate activities have been taken to remove the waste of animals slaughtered on the occasion of Qorbani haat and Qorbani, Tapas said, we are hopeful that the animal haats will be run smoothly and everyone will be able to purchase animals from there. There will be no irony. Apart from the central control room, separate control rooms are being established in each market. So, if there is any problem, we will take immediate action if we report it to our market or central control room.

We also review the previous year’s experience every year. We shape our action plan in that light. In view of that, this time we have engaged separate manpower, officials and vehicles for the market. And we have separate manpower, vehicles and management to remove the waste of slaughtered animals.

In response to a question from the journalists, Tapas said, like last year, we have a target to remove the waste of sacrificial animals within 24 hours. So the waste generated during these days will be removed within 24 hours. The waste generated on the next day will also be removed within 24 hours. And since the number of animals in the bazaar, the scope of the bazaar and the sales decrease from the night before Eid, we will start the work of removing the waste from the bazaar from that night.
