People will not let their dreams of long-term power be fulfilled: Fakhrul


BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has commented that the people will never let the government’s dream of enjoying power for a long time be fulfilled.

He said this in a statement on Sunday (July 7). He made this statement expressing deep concern over the fact that the convenor of Pirojpur District Youth Dal, Maruf Hasan, was denied bail and sent to jail.

BNP Secretary General said, ‘The Awami ruling group has become more reckless and tyrannical by seizing power through farce elections on January 7 due to lack of public support. BNP and its affiliates and affiliates have started severe repression against the leaders and activists of the opposition parties in order to hold on to the state power through the authoritarian regime.’

He said, “Sentencing in false cases to the court, denying bail and sending the opposition leaders and activists to jail has now become the main goal of the illegal Awami occupying government.” Convenor of Pirojpur District Youth Dal, Maruf Hasan was denied bail and sent to jail. However, the people will never let the dream of the Awami dummy government to enjoy illegal power for a long time by oppressing the people and the opposition leaders and activists come true.’

Fakhrul also said, ‘I am expressing deep concern about the cases of jailing of BNP and opposition parties and people of opinion by denying bail to the courts all over the country. At the same time, I strongly demand his immediate unconditional release along with the withdrawal of the false case filed against Maruf Hasan.
