Police members are instructed to be careful in performing their duties during Eid


DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman said that it is the sacred responsibility of the police to ensure the safe journey of the people at home and the safety of those who will be in Dhaka during the Eid holidays. For this reason, he instructed the crime and traffic department to be vigilant.

He said this at a special coordination meeting regarding the overall security and traffic management of the Dhaka metropolitan area on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha at the conference room of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) headquarters on Thursday (June 6).

The DMP Commissioner requested the leaders of the bus owners association to drive the vehicles with experienced drivers to prevent road accidents. In order to reduce traffic congestion, he called for the buses to leave in stages instead of bringing them together at the terminal and leaving them at distant places.

In the meeting, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, road, rail and sea traffic, monitoring the overall convenience and inconvenience of passengers, overall security, maintaining law and order and traffic management were discussed to make public transportation safe and smooth.

In the coordination meeting, senior officials of DMP, various intelligence agencies, RAB, Special Branch, Highway Police, Directorate of Roads and Public Ways, Superintendent of Police Narayanganj, Superintendent of Police of Dhaka District, Naval Police, Railway Police, Fire Service, Directorate of Water Transport, Government-Private Various Service Provider Organizations, BIWTA, Shop Owners Association, Bus Owners Association, Launch Owners Association, Launch Workers Association, BGMEA, BKMEA, Dhaka North and South City Corporation, Bangladesh Inland Navigation Authority, Bangladesh Bus-Truck Owners Association, Bangladesh Truck – Representatives of Covered Van Owners Association, Bangladesh Truck Driver Workers Federation, Bangladesh Road Transport Federation were present.
