The students of Dhaka College have continued their agitation demanding the reinstatement of the circular issued by the government in 2018 canceling the quota system in government jobs.

They protested for the third day on Thursday (July 4) at 12 noon in the college campus. After that, he took a procession and stayed at Sainslab intersection for a while. Later, the students ended the procession at the college gate by turning at Nilkhet intersection via Mirpur road.

During this time, the students chanted ‘Eighteen tools, rise again’, ‘In my golden Bengal, there is no room for discrimination’, ‘The main word of the constitution is equality for all’, ‘There is no room for discrimination in Bangabandhu’s Bengal’, ‘Dee Khabar in all of Bengal, bury the quota system’. He kept giving different slogans including ‘. Later they joined the ongoing movement in Shahbagh.

The students who participated in the protest said that the quota system is completely illegal even after so many years of independence. Quota is an attempt to give extra benefits to a certain class of people in government jobs. Rest of the millions of students and unemployed are deprived of social rights.

Dhaka College student Alifur said, we want Bangladesh to become a merit-based state. It is a loss to the country if less talented students are excluded from employment. Millions of students will be deprived of their rights in this decision. We want the quota system to be abolished. If the demand is not accepted, our movement will continue.
