Rain has decreased, temperature may increase


Rainfall has reduced across the country. On Saturday, it rained more or less all over the country except Chittagong division. However, it did not rain in the capital. Maximum 120 mm of rain has occurred in Jessore.

According to the weather forecast on Sunday (July 7), day and night temperatures may increase slightly across the country today. Also, at the same time, there may be light to moderate rain or thundershowers with gusty winds at many places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at some places of Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions. Along with this, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur at some places in Rangpur division.

Meteorologist Shahnaz Sultana said that there is little chance of rain in Dhaka for a couple of days. But it can rain anytime during monsoon. However, the rain trend may increase towards the end of this week.

It is reported that the axis of the monsoon winds extends through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and central parts of Bangladesh to Assam. An extension of it extends to the northern Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay of Bengal.

Forecasting next Monday and Tuesday, meteorologist Tariful Kabir Newaz said that these two days the day and night temperatures may increase across the country. At this time, many places of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and some places of Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds. Along with this, moderate to heavy rainfall may occur at some places in Rangpur division.

On the other hand, the highest temperature in the country was 34.4 degrees in Ishwardi on Saturday. Rangpur division received the most rain.
