Sabina’s challenge to retain the title is in Nepal

As there was no venue at hand, two days ago Buffe was hopeful that the next women’s championship would be held in Dhaka. Along with Nepal and Bhutan, Bangladesh also applied to the South Asian Football Federation (SAF) to host the Women’s SAFF; But not Dhaka, Kathmandu is going to be the host of the women’s parade for the second time in a row.

In the virtual meeting of the SAF Tournament Committee held on Monday, it was decided that this year SAF will be held in Kathmandu. The date has also been fixed. South Asia’s biggest women’s football tournament will be held from October 17 to 30.

In 2022, Bangladesh sat on the seat of excellence in South Asia for the first time after defeating the host Nepal in Kathmandu. This time Sabina dreamed of retaining that title at home.

However, Bafuf had a concern about the venue as renovation work was going on at the Bangabandhu National Stadium. Mahfuza Akhter Kiran, head of the women’s football committee, had announced the choice of Bashundhara Kings Arena as the venue for the Women’s SAFF three days ago.

But Saf did not agree to it. Bhutan was also interested. But their interest did not come into consideration as the flights were not regular. Rather, considering all aspects, Kathmandu has been given the right to host.

Safar editor Anwarul Haque Helal said this. This year in August in Nepal will be SAFF boys under-20 championship. Bhutan will then host the Under-17 Championship in September.
