Sabina’s visit to Bhutan postponed ‘for now’

Bangladesh Football Federation has apparently postponed the women’s football team’s visit to Bhutan to play two FIFA friendly matches on July 11 and 14 as part of preparation for the SAFF Championship.

Mahfuza Akhter Kiran, chairperson of BAF Women’s Football Committee, said on Thursday that Bhutan is not going to Bhutan in this window due to flight problems.

However, Bhutan is trying to organize a tri-nation tournament later this month or in the first week of August. If there is a tournament, the women’s football team will go there. For this reason, Kiran also said that they are talking about the flight to Thimpu on July 22.

The next edition of the Women’s SAFF Championship will be held in Nepal next October. Buffafe has emphasized on playing more matches in the challenge of retaining the title. As part of that, the girls played two matches against Chinese Taipei. Although invited to the four-nation tournament in Lebanon, it was not possible to send a team there due to the government’s permission.
