Scotland beat Oman by a huge margin to top the group

Scotland’s batsmen ran rampant on Oman’s bowlers. Batting down to a target of 151 runs, Scotland won in just 13.1 overs. They topped the B-Group points table after beating Australia by a huge margin of 7 wickets.

Scotland lost the wicket of opener Michael Jones (16 off 13 balls) for 21 runs in reply to Oman’s 150 runs at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on Sunday. George Munsey and Brandon McMullen put on a 29-ball 65-run partnership for the second wicket.

Munsey returned to Sajghar playing a brilliant innings of 41 runs off 20 balls. Then the team collected 86 runs in 7.5 overs. Later, McMullen and Matthew Cross left the field after winning the match with an unbeaten partnership of 43 runs off 20 balls for the fourth wicket.

McMullen played an unbeaten innings of 61 runs from 31 balls. He finished the innings with 9 boundaries and 2 sixes.

Earlier, after winning the toss, Oman scored 150 runs for 7 wickets in opener Prateek Athaval’s fifty. Pratik played a great innings of 54 runs off 40 balls. And batsman Ayan Khan at number 7 scored 41 runs from 39 balls. None of the rest could touch the 20-run mark.

Safwan Sharif took 2 wickets for Scotland. Aqib Ilyas, Mehran Khan and Bilal Khan took 1 wicket each for Oman.
