Shahbagh blockade again demanding cancellation of quota

Students and job aspirants once again blocked the Shahbag intersection of the capital demanding the reinstatement of the circular issued by the government in 2018 canceling the quota system for the first and second class government jobs.

On Saturday (July 6) at 5:30 pm, the students laid siege to Shahbagh for the fourth day. Earlier, students gathered in front of Dhaka University Central Library at 3 pm. Agitators marched from every hall and gathered in front of the library.

Then at 3:30 a.m., the students took a protest march from the front of the library and went around various roads of the campus via Bakshi Bazar-Buet-Palashi-Eden-Nilkhet to Shahbagh. Then they laid siege there. This movement of students is being conducted under the banner of ‘anti-discrimination student movement’.
