He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the protest rally in front of the party office at Kazi Deuri Nasimon Bhavan on Saturday (July 6) afternoon. Chittagong city, north and south district BNP organized a rally to demand the release of Khaleda Zia.

Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said, ‘Yesterday I saw in the newspaper that 14 billion dollars of exports have disappeared. One lakh 70 thousand crores in Bangladesh Taka. If it is a breeze, the growth of Bangladesh is supposed to be a breeze. Growth will come down from 5 to 4. The gap between expenditure and deposits will increase further.’

He said, ‘The artificial economic model created by Awami Marka is to loot the money of the people of the country and smuggle it abroad. Looting in the name of mega project. Today there are no dollars in reserve. Can’t buy gas, can’t buy oil. The mill-factory is closing down. People are losing jobs. In this way, the country’s economy has been paralyzed.

Claiming that Khaleda Zia did not commit any corruption, the BNP leader said, ‘Khaleda Zia or any of her family members did not take a single penny from the trust for which she was punished. All the money is deposited in the bank, the interest has actually quadrupled now.’

He said, ‘Khaleda Zia is not punished according to what is said in the constitution of Bangladesh. The United Nations International Declaration of Human Rights clearly states that this crime is not a punishable crime.
