The decision to expel 9 students of Yabi Prabi for life


It has been decided to expel 9 students from different departments of Jessore University of Science and Technology (JAB) for life. The decision was taken against them as the allegations of their involvement in the kidnapping of job seekers and overnight physical and mental abuse of a resident student were proved beyond doubt.

It was also decided to take action against a total of 13 people, including four others who are currently not students.

The decision was taken in the 100th (special) meeting of the highest policy-making forum of the university, the Board of Regents, at the conference room of the administrative building of Yabi Prabir on Tuesday (June 25) afternoon. Many members of the Board of Regents attended the meeting virtually and in person. After the Inquiry Committee report it is presented to the Disciplinary Committee of the University as per rules. Later, after the recommendation of the disciplinary committee was presented to the board of regents, this decision was taken considering the importance of the incident.

At the beginning of the meeting, Yabiprabi Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain spoke. In his speech, he informed the members of the Board of Regents about the events of the elevator operator recruitment selection board on December 7, 2023. On June 4, 2024, Jabi Prabi informed Shahrin Rahman, a student of Physical Education and Sports Science (PESS) Department, of physical and mental abuse during the night.
