The former leader of Eden College Chhatra League has been summoned to appear in court

A former student of Eden College and Chhatra League leader has filed a case of fraud against Chhatra League Central Committee Vice President Mohammad Fuad Hossain Shahadat. Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Hasibul Haque issued a summons to the accused to appear in court on June 30.

Chhatra League leader Mohammad Fuad Hossain filed the case on Wednesday (June 5). He was a student of Dhaka University Law Department in 2011-12 session.

The leader of Sabeb Chhatra League of Eden Mahila College, who claims to be Fuad’s wife, has been made the sole accused in the case. The accused is said to be a member of the convening committee of Eden College Chhatra League. He has been charged under sections 419, 420, 469 and 500 of the Penal Code.

The plaintiff mentioned in the case that he used to meet and talk with the accused in different programs of Chhatra League. In view of this, the accused made a statement in various media last June 1 and 2 and claimed to be the wife of the plaintiff. However, he could not show the cabinet letter to any journalist.

He also mentioned that such activities of the accused are not new. On April 4, Dhaka’s Pallabi police station filed a GD against the accused for identifying himself as a wife but not a wife. On November 3, 2023, a GDO was filed against the accused at Hazaribagh police station. It is also stated that the accused cheated by impersonating the plaintiff’s wife at various places and demanded money.

Recently, a Chhatra League leader of Eden College and Central Chhatra League vice-president Fuad Hossain made a counter-complaint in the media about the marriage. Chhatra League leader claims to be married, but Fuad says it is cheating.
