The interrogation of the investigating officer in Aarav Khan’s case continues

Investigation officer Sheikh Mahbubur Rahman is continuing the interrogation in the case against 8 people including the accused Rabiul Islam alias Arav Khan in the police inspector Mamun murder case.

On Thursday (June 6), he was questioned by the lawyers of the accused in the court of First Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Faisal Atiq Bin Quader of Dhaka. As the interrogation did not end on this day, the court fixed July 23 for the next interrogation. The testimony of 20 of the 38 witnesses included in the charge sheet of the case has ended.

The other accused in the case are Suraiya Akhtar Kaya, Rahmat Ullah, Swapan Sarkar, Mizan Sheikh, Atiq Hasan, Sarwar Hasan and Didar Pathan. In this case, Rabiul Islam alias Arav Khan and Suraiya Akhter Kaya are absconding. The remaining six accused in jail were present in the court today.

Mehrunnecha Swarna alias Afrin alias Annafi and Mocha are two minor accused in this case. Faria bint Mim. A different charge sheet was filed against them. Their trial is ongoing in the Children’s Court.

On July 9, 2018, the body of Mamun Imran Khan was recovered from the forest of Gazipur. In that incident, Mamun’s brother Jahangir Alam Khan filed a murder case in Banani Police Station of the capital as the plaintiff. The investigating officer of the case, Inspector Sheikh Mahbubur Rahman of the DB Police filed the charge sheet of the case in the court on April 8, 2019. On November 25, 2021, the court framed charges against the accused.
