The mother was hacked to death without getting the drug money, the son was arrested
A housewife named Reena Begum (45) was hacked to death in Chittagong. The incident took place on Sunday around 11:30 pm in the hilly Veluardighi Par area of the city.
Police say that Reena Begum was killed by her son Omar (18) after not getting the drug money. He was arrested in this incident. Locals said that the arrested Omar is a high school student of Pahartali College.
Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Pahartali Zone. Mainur Rahman said, the boy named Omar was addicted to drugs. His father is a CNG autorickshaw driver. At various times he took money from his mother and took drugs. He asked for money from his mother before the incident on Sunday night. But he got angry because he did not pay the money and he angrily scolded his mother. The mother died on the spot. Omar has been arrested in this incident.
The body was recovered and sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for autopsy. AC Md said that a case has been filed in this regard. Mainur Rahman.
