The old man died due to the dispute over the land, the opponent’s attack


Bhishma Dev Roy (60) died after being attacked by his opponent over a land dispute in Nilphamari. On Thursday (July 4) afternoon, the old man died while undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

Before this, the incident took place at Kanchanpara Indramohanpara of Chowra Baragacha Union of Sadar Upazila of Nilphamari.

The deceased old Bhisma Dev Roy was a resident of that area. The injured in this incident are Bhisma Dev Roy’s brother Phul Kumar Roy and nephew Milan Chandra Roy.

According to local and police sources, Zahidul Islam, Piarul Islam and Md. Bhishma Dev Roy had a long dispute with Humayun over land. Later, when Bhisma Dev filed a case in court as a plaintiff, the judge ruled in his favor. And gave notice to Zahidul to leave the land.

On Thursday morning, Bhishma Dev went to plant paddy with some local people. At that time, Zahidul came to the land with more people and started beating them. Meanwhile, Zahidul hit Bhishma Dev Roy on the head with a wooden stick and Bhishma Dev Roy’s nephew Milan Chandra Roy hit the head with Humayun’s iron rod. And Pyarul Islam Bhishma Deb Roy’s brother Phul Kumar Roy broke his hand.

Nilphamari Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Tanvirul Islam told Jago News that one person was killed due to a dispute over land. Two others are injured. They are under treatment in hospital. Three people are being detained and interrogated in this incident.
