Those who will be given the deed on the Day of Judgment will be left handed

Surah Haqqah is the 69th Surah of the Qur’an, its number of verses is 52 and the number of bows is 2. Surah Haqqah was revealed in Mecca.

Surah Haqqah begins with a question about ‘Haqqah’. The root meaning of the word ‘Hakkah’ is certainty or real matter. Here ‘Hakkah’ means the Day of Judgment or the Day of Judgment which is an inevitable or certain event and the day when Allah’s promise of reward and warning of punishment will be realized and the ultimate fate of man will be determined.

Surah Haqqah discusses the horrors of the Hour, the authenticity of the Qur’an and the Holy Spirit, the message of the Prophet (PBUH), the various slanders of the infidels, the punishment of the previous nations due to disbelief and iniquity, etc.

Allah Almighty says in Surah Haqqah verses 1-12:

(25)
and
Wa amma man utiya kitabahu bishimalihi faiyakulu ya laitani lam uta kitabiyah.
And that person, whose deed will be given in his left hand; He will say, Alas! If I had not been given a certificate!

(26)
Wa Lam Adri Ma Hakiyah.
And I could not know, what is my account?

(27)
Ya Laitaha Qanatil Qadiyyah.
Aha! If I had finished everything in death!

(28)
Mother Agana Annie Maliah.
My wealth is of no use to me!

(29)
Halaka Annie Sultaniyah.
My power is also destroyed.

(30)
Khujuhu Fagulluh.
It will be said to the angels, take him, put a chain around his neck.

(31)
Summal Zahima Salluh.
Then cast him into hell.

(32)
Summa fi silsilatin jaruha sabuna ziraan faslukuh.
Then bind him in chains, which shall be seventy cubits.

(33)
Innahu kana la uminu billahil azeem.
He did not believe in God Almighty.

(34)
Wala Yahdu Ala Tamil Miskeen.
And did not encourage giving food to the poor.

(35)
Laisha lahul yaoma ha-huna- hamim.
So he has no good heart here today.

(36)
Wala ta’amun illa min ghisleen.
And there shall be no food but the pus of the wound,

(37)
La Yakuluhu Illal Khatiun.
Which no one but sinners will eat.

The teaching we get from these verses:

1. On the Day of Judgment, infidels and sinners will be given their deeds in the left hand. If someone’s deed is given to his left hand, he will understand that his fate is hell. He would then wail in utter despair.

2. Worldly wealth and power will be of no use in the hereafter. Those who were blinded in this world by pride of wealth and power, were immersed in oppression, disbelief, wickedness, they will have to suffer severe punishment in the hereafter.

3. One of the reasons for falling into Hell in the Hereafter will be not believing in Allah Almighty.

4. Despite being rich in this world, not paying the right of the poor, not paying zakat is a big sin for which you will have to suffer punishment in the hereafter.
