UPDF supporter shot dead in Panchari


United Peoples Democratic Front-UPDF supporter Varun Vikas Chakma (55) was killed by enemy firing at Panchari in Khagrachari.

The murder took place in Hatimara area of ​​Durgam Logang Union of Panchari Upazila on the Indian border around 9 pm on Saturday (June 8).

Deceased Varun Vikas Chakma is the son of Sudhir Vikas Chakma, a resident of Kamal Krishna Karbari Para (Hatimara) of Ward No. 2 of Logang Union. He is a supporter of the United People’s Democratic Front- UPDF.

Khagrachari district organizer of UPDF, Angya Marma, said that Varun Vikas Chakma was going home from a local shop at around 9 pm when he was shot dead by armed terrorists who were already camping near his house.

He blamed the opponent UPDF Democratic Party for the killing by claiming the deceased Varun Vikas Chakma as his supporter.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Panchari Police Station. Safiul Azam confirmed the truth of the incident and said that it was not possible to reach the spot as the spot was very remote.
