‘Watching the pension scheme-quota movement closely’

General Secretary of Awami League and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said that he is closely monitoring the issue of pension scheme and quota movement.

He said this in the speech of the chief guest at the ceremony of awarding the officers and employees of the road transport and highway department at the secretariat on Sunday (July 7).

There is a deadlock in public universities over pension schemes and quotas. When asked what he thinks about it, he said, “We are observing deeply. It will be resolved in time, I believe. The issue on which they are protesting was the government’s decision, the court gave a different verdict. While the court case is ongoing it is in the Appellate Division. I should not talk about pending matters. Still, we are monitoring the situation of our country, educational institutions.

In response to the question whether he will sit with them soon or not, he said, we are in touch with them. I can’t tell you when the seating will be. But it will be resolved in time.
