Weapons were found in the bodies of two Rohingyas


Members of the Armed Police Battalion (APBN) arrested two Rohingyas in a raid at Ukhia camp in Cox’s Bazar.

During their body search, one shotgun, three rounds of rifle bullets, two rounds of shotgun cartridges and five rounds of rifle shells were recovered.

The operation was carried out in the C-6 block of Rohingya Camp No. 5 in Ukhia early on Friday (July 5).

The arrested are Mohammad Zubair (26), son of Noor Chalam, resident of Block C of Rohingya Camp No. 5 in Ukhia, and son of Sona Mia of the same camp. Shafiq (33).

Additional DIG Mohammad Iqbal, the captain of 14 APBN confirmed this information.

He said, after searching the bodies of the two Rohingyas, three rounds of rifle bullets, five rifle shells and two shotgun cartridges were found wrapped in a lungi. Later they were arrested and handed over to Ukhia police station.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ukhia police station Shamim Hossain said that a case has been filed against the detainees. The process of sending them to jail is underway.
