2 drivers were killed in a collision between two trucks on Shivchar Expressway


Two drivers were killed in a collision between two trucks at Shibchar of Madaripur on the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Expressway. The accident took place on the east side of Shibchar Highway Police Station near Arial Khan Bridge of Expressway at around 5 am on Sunday (June 9).

The deceased are – Bajrapur area of ​​Khalishpur upazila of Jhenaidah district. Ujjal (35) son of Isar Ali and Raihan Mia (21) son of Mozahar Ali of Moniram area of ​​Sundarganj upazila of Gaibandha district.

According to the police and local sources, the driver Rayhan Mia parked on the side of the road when the engine of the truck that came at a reckless speed broke down on the broken lane of the expressway on Sunday morning. Meanwhile, another truck coming from behind hit the parked truck. Both the trucks were twisted. At this time the driver of the two trucks Ujjal and Md. Raihan Mia was seriously injured. Later, the two injured persons were quickly rescued and taken to the Shibchar Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared them dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shibchar Highway Police Station. Shakil Ahmed said, after receiving the information, the Highway Police team went to the spot and rescued the injured and took them to the Upazila Health Complex. At that time the doctor declared them dead. The two trucks involved in the accident are in the custody of the Highway Police.
