Bangabandhu’s life expectancy 7 times tree plantation program started in Munshiganj


On the occasion of World Environment Day, 35 thousand saplings were planted and distributed in Munshiganj. A total of one lakh 41 thousand 680 saplings will be planted in the district.

On Wednesday (June 5) morning, Deputy Commissioner Abu Zafar Ripon inaugurated the program at Champatla High School ground in Sadar Upazila.

Various fruit, forest and flower seedlings were distributed among the students. Later, they participated in the simultaneous planting of the school yard and roadside. The program was organized simultaneously in six upazilas of the district throughout the day.

Deputy Commissioner Abu Zafar Ripon said that the father of the nation had a life expectancy of 20,240 days. Munshiganj will be colorful with seven times more trees, flowers and fruits than this number. Plantation program of one lakh 41 thousand 680 trees has started in the district. 35 thousand saplings were planted today on World Environment Day. The plantation program will continue till August.

He also said that not only the planting but also the maintenance will be monitored. They will name one after planting the saplings distributed among the students. This will increase their awareness towards trees.

Additional District Commissioner Sarbik Ashraful Alam, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Afifa Khan and students of various educational institutions, local public representatives and district administration officials were present in this program of the district administration.
